Call for Participation
We value your ideas!
Digitalisation and sustainability should go hand in hand, and digital technology should serve people. We’d love to work with you to find out how this can be achieved and what it means in practice. We’re looking for people who are passionate about digital sustainability, as well as those who have already made a difference. People who want to show how it can be done. We want to learn from you and your projects.
Together with various stakeholders, the Digitalisation and Sustainability Section of the German Informatics Society (GI), the Grüne Bits project and the Association of German Scientists are organising DINAcon Germany on 8 and 9 April 2027 at the Leibniz Computing Centre in Munich, modelled on the DINAcon conferences organised in Switzerland for the past ten years by the CH Open association.
As part of what will be the first DINAcon Germany, we invite you to submit contributions in various formats on topics relating to digital sustainability. All stakeholders in the fields of digitalisation and sustainability are welcome – researchers, committed individuals, those with an interest in the subject, organised groups, networkers and activists. The invitation also extends to non-profit organisations, associations, communities, companies and public bodies.
Planned key themes are:
- Digital independence
- Data centres and energy
- Digitalisation infrastructures
- ‘Digital care work’ – the culture of looking after, maintaining, caring for and ensuring the continuity of digital objects
- Legal frameworks for more sustainable digitalisation, such as licences, copyright, etc.
- Informational sustainability
- How do we talk about digitalisation? Narratives, messages and science communication
- Digital ethics
Presentations can be 20, 40 or 60 minutes long, depending on what we and you consider appropriate. The format of the presentations is open: lectures, moderated workshops, fishbowl discussions or other conference formats are welcome. For shorter formats (e.g. Pecha Kucha), we ask that you team up with others to fill 20 minutes together.
The conference contributions will also be published on our website afterwards. For this reason, we ask that you submit fully drafted texts including information on authors, affiliations and, where applicable, background research.
Submit your contribution (via pretalx)
We’re keen to hear your ideas and topics and look forward to putting together an inspiring and informative programme from the submissions. Please forward this call for papers to anyone in your network who might be interested.
Important: Help with the organisation and on-site support during the conference is very welcome – get in touch!
